ABOUT THE CHEF:

Canela Culinary Services was founded in 2005. Stemming from the numerous requests to cater parties and help friends with healthy meals, Chef Helen Anaya decided to start her own Culinary Services company. Chef Anaya has a Culinary Arts degree from Scottsdale Culinary Institute and a marketing degree from The University of Arizona.  She has a Cordon Blue Culinary Arts Certification. Her experience includes banquets, restaurants and catering.  Her experience in working for the Arizona Biltmore and the Hilton has made her a very well rounded chef.  Chef Anaya has also been a judge in The Scottsdale Culnary Festival for the past three years.

Based on her roots, Chef Anaya specializes in Gourmet Nuevo Latino Cuisine.  Her parents owned a fine dinning restaurant in Northern Mexico for more than 30 years where she refined her discriminating taste buds.  She learned from her mother and grandmother how to cook authentic Mexican cuisine.

After Chef Anaya graduated from University of Arizona, she worked for several companies in a variety of capacities including volunteer and event coordination to management, sales, promotions and customer service.  But her true love for cooking led her to follow her passion and get her Culinary degree in 2004.
